Don't do it Brian

Wednesday 29 July 2009

The tale of the day from my view point will follow. For now lets just say it was a good day with good company that ended with a good meal, and a lesson learned. It is not a good idea to jump across torrents of water for a better photo, or like me you could end up with a sore bottom the following day. Brian aka AJ

LODGINGS

The lodgings left a little to be desired

FOUR MEN AND A VERY HIGH MOUNTAIN

We came

We saw

We got very wet.

The day dawned and we were awake to see it. Wiping the sleep from our eyes,we loaded up our transport and set out for our goal. Accompanied by Colins motivaional Ivor Cutler CD and Matts continual chorus of "are we there yet", the miles soon passed beneath our tyres.

On arrival the weather decided it was time to assert its authority and we were greeted by rain and wind and as we donned our gear we wondered at the sanity of our decision. Brian took some persuading that this was actually the norm for a British summer. After sychronising our watches and checking Ricks Zimmer frame, the trek began as did more rain. Up up into the clouds and wind we climbed, questioning our sanity with each step and then we left the car park and headed up the mountain. Long and hard was the trek but the four intrepid adventurers kept up the pace only stopping to refuel on mint cake and to tie Matts boot laces for him.. Upwards into the teeth of the howling gale the four continued, not to be beaten, they fed on their last vestiges of strength (well Brians M&Ms actually) and finally the end was in sight well about 6 feet away because that was as far as you could see. Brian with the hopes of the nation behind him unfurled his flag and his 3 proud companions shared his delight until they realised they had to walk back down.

FOUR MEN AND A VERY HIGH MOUNTAIN
1 DAY TO GO
Nearly there boys
Last chance for dropping out is fast approaching
So steel yourself, flex your musles, empty your mind
(That last one shouldn't prove to difficult.)
So are yo ready, say your farewells, pick up your bags
kiss your loved ones goodbye and as you walk out that door
DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERAS

NEWSFLASH!!!!!!!!!

FOUR MEN AND A VERY HIGH MOUNTAIN

NEWSFLASH

As the day fast approaches one of the intrepid four
was seen out on the slopes this weekend.
Perhaps fine tuning his skills, or maybe as rumour has it
scaring away every butterfly and bird he could find.
After photographing them for himself that is.

FOUR DAYS AND COUNTING

Friday 17 July 2009

Heres one for AJ. Theres cold and there is FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What will we find

A very confiding common blue, although i think common might be a little insulting to this little beauty
Wheres the mountai link i hear you thinking, well i took this photograph earlier in the year at the foot of said peak. Lets hope it's still there, only with some mates.

What will the weather be?

As the day fast approaches, for the four (Possibly six) men to do what men do and go and conquer the mountain, (correction a very high mountain). At least one of those men is contemplating what the weather will be like? AJ does not like cold, coming from warmer parts of the globe, let alone cold and wet.

FOUR MEN AND A VERY HIGH MOUNTAIN

Who will be first to the top?
Will they all make it to the top?
Will Ricks glass back hold out?
Will Colins rucksack be able to hold enough sandwiches?
Will Brian cry off at the last moment as overtime is offered to him?
Is Mathews hair gel strong enough for the windswept peak?
All these questions and more will be answered in the next couple of weeks,
make sure you don't miss
